Hi this is a cool looking blog, I was just looking for this last night. Pleased I finally found what I needed.
Your blog is top-notch I will have to read it all, thank you for the diversion from my coursework!
Can anyone advise of a good seo company? there seems to be a mountain of them, some people say use who shows up first in the search engines when you type in seo which kind of makes sense but I’m not sure. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I’ll check back regular for responses.
It’s always better to learn SEO yourself than it is to waste your money on “companies” who most of the times promess more than they give you.
I strongly suggest you read the Search Engine Optimization FAQ
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182915 on SitePoint
as well as Chris Beasley’s SEO Guide.

Also avoid any SEO resource that you have to pay for in order to read.
If you dont have time, since SEO is a “time wasting” process and if you are not sure what you are doing, it could indeed take you a lot of time and your site still not getting any traffic…
If so, then you need to contact well seo company or hire any seo freelancer who can work for you as seo.
If the company is competent, they save you a lot of work and are pretty expensive. If they’re not competent, your site may be dumped by google and others.
Some companies will get you a lot of traffic at first and then the traffic dies off shortly after you pay them the rest of the money.
Before you hire a company, make sure you get guarantees on what work they will perform and proof they performed it.
If you go using freelance websites, I recommend you select from very reputable persons there – otherwise, the result may be quite random.
Before selecting any SEO company, ask following things from them:
1. Portfolio – SEO is a long term process so look if they have managed any client for a long time (At least 6 months would be nicer)
2. What’s process for SEO they are following? Are all submissions manually? Make sure they are not using any automated tools or “Black Hat SEO”.
3. Ask them if they can let you know some expected results in certain amount of time.
These are some os the SEO agencies:

Some of them are members of Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO)
You can find your local companyies here:

As a tip: don’t go with cheapest ones, cheaper most of the times means lower quality. Not a basis though, but it mostly happens.
I enjoyed your article but you can actually use a few social sharing links I’ve observed all over the place, that way I really could mail this post to my buddys
